S. Synod of Raboué (Lebanon) from July 24 to August 4, 1995This article presents an ecclesiastical document from the Greek-Melkite Catholic Holy Synod held at Raboué (Lebanon) from July 24 to August 4, 1995. It is an official document reproducing the profession of faith of Archbishop Elias Zoghby, retired archbishop of Baalbeck, along with the endorsements it generated. The central idea rests on a two-point formula: adherence to the teaching of Eastern Orthodoxy and recognition of Roman primacy within the limits defined by the Eastern Fathers during the first millennium. This profession, approved almost unanimously by the Melkite bishops and welcomed by Orthodox Metropolitan Georges Khodr, is presented as a sufficient basis for reunifying the Patriarchate of Antioch, divided since 1724. The theological contribution lies in this attempt to formulate a minimal consensus between Catholicism and Orthodoxy, with explicit reference to the pontifical encyclical *Ut unum sint*.
