A pastor steeped in the prayer of the church and its liturgical realization
Issue 275 · 2021

This article constitutes a personal testimony about the figure of Father Boris Bobrinskoy, theologian and Orthodox pastor of the French-speaking parish of the Holy Trinity in Paris. The author, Didier Vilanova, physicist and former choirmaster of this community, offers a portrait based on more than thirty-five years of parish attendance. The central idea is that Father Boris embodied an Orthodoxy that was both rigorous and accessible, deeply rooted in liturgical prayer and dogmatic theology, without ever lapsing into moralism or folklore. The article highlights the pastoral contribution of a priest who was able to combine liturgical demands, spiritual pedagogy and concrete attention to the faithful, thereby contributing to the establishment of an authentic French-speaking Orthodoxy in the West, anchored in tradition and open to contemporary culture.
