This article focuses on the eschatological thought of Gregory of Nyssa, one of the Cappadocian Fathers of the fourth century, and more specifically on the already-accomplished dimension of salvation in his theology. The study examines the way in which Gregory conceives of the human nature of Christ as the archetype of renewed humanity, articulating eschatology and Christology. The central idea is that the Incarnation does not merely constitute a promise oriented toward future fulfillment, but inaugurates here and now a real participation in the divine life. The theological contribution of the article lies in bringing to light a "realized" eschatology in Gregory of Nyssa, distinct from a simple expectation of the end of times: the transformation of the human being begins with and in Christ, rendering present a reality that the Christian tradition ordinarily associates with the last things.
