Biblical studies and “theology of the sixties”This article examines the place of biblical studies within the Greek Orthodox theological renewal movement of the 1960s. Adopting a historical and critical approach, the author analyzes the way in which this current, despite its considerable influence on Hellenic Orthodox theology and beyond, maintained an ambiguous relationship with scientific exegesis. The central idea is that the "theology of the sixties" neglected the development of rigorous biblical research, showing a significant lag behind contemporary methodological advances. The contribution of the article lies in the identification of this structural gap as an inherent limitation of the movement, thus contributing to a nuanced and documented assessment of its legacy. The study offers useful elements for understanding the internal dynamics of modern Orthodox theology and its disciplinary blind spots.
