This article examines the figure of Father Alexander Men (1935–1990), a Russian Orthodox priest murdered at the dawn of perestroika, and the lasting influence of his work on the revival of Christian culture in the post-Soviet space. The author adopts both a biographical and analytical approach to convey the breadth of an exceptional intellectual and pastoral legacy. The central idea is that Father Men played a foundational role in transmitting Christianity to a Soviet generation cut off from its religious roots, notably through a considerable catechetical, theological, and literary output. The article highlights the way in which this multifaceted body of work — sermons, books, lectures — contributed to renewing Russian Orthodox Christian thought and continues to nourish the intellectual and spiritual life of the Churches and communities that emerged from the former Soviet Union.
