Philippe Dautais

This article by Father Philippe Dautais examines the relationship between healing and salvation in the Christian tradition, in response to the excesses observed in certain contemporary practices arising from the charismatic renewal. The author adopts a theological and spiritual approach grounded in the Gospel texts and the Orthodox patristic tradition. The central idea is that authentic healing can only occur within a personal relationship with Christ, involving the free desire of the person and a faith lived as total trust in God. The article develops three axes: the relational dimension of healing, the purification of passions as a condition for openness to grace, and faith-as-trust as the foundation of salvation. The theological contribution lies in the articulation between the Orthodox notion of divine-human synergy and an anthropology of inner healing, distinguishing intellectual belief from faith of the heart.
