This article examines the situation of Orthodoxy in the West, marked by the coexistence of communities stemming from recent immigration and locally rooted communities. Through a meditative theological reflection, the author questions the deeper purpose of ecclesial life in the face of the tensions generated by this cohabitation. Drawing on the historical precedent of the early divisions between Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians in the apostolic era, he draws a parallel with contemporary conflicts between Orthodox Christians "from here" and "from there." The central idea is that the absolutization of each approach to faith — whether attached to the letter of Tradition or more critical of it — constitutes an obstacle to communion in Christ. The theological contribution lies in the proposal to read the necessity of cohabitation as a place of ecclesiological discernment, revealing the deeper vocation of Orthodox communities in the diaspora.

This article is devoted to the figure of Father Boris, an Orthodox priest and theologian of the Russian emigration, who died after a long period of confinement to bed in a monastery in Burgundy. The author, Radu Maras, chaplain of the same monastery, offers a personal and meditative account tracing the final years of life of this pastor. The central idea is that of a spiritual progression toward pure grace: the gradual stripping away of all outward activity, far from being an impoverishment, reveals an accomplished form of self-giving, in which an entire life becomes liturgy. The theological contribution of this text lies in the articulation between human weakness and sacred presence, illustrated by the trajectory of a man whose existence embodies the continuity between eucharistic celebration and personal offering, thus providing a reflection on priestly vocation and ordinary holiness within the Orthodox tradition.
