Workshops

This article reports on six workshops held at an Orthodox Brotherhood congress, addressing pastoral, liturgical, ethical and family themes. These are accounts of collective discussions, bringing together Orthodox participants and, for some workshops, Catholic and Protestant speakers. The exchanges focus on liturgical life and the adaptation of the Typikon, mixed marriages and their canonical and pastoral treatment, the vocation of the Christian in the secular world, the meaning of asceticism and fasting from an ecumenical perspective, the challenges of medical ethics at the thresholds of life, as well as the Orthodox theology of marriage, family and sexuality. The main contribution of these workshops lies in bringing into dialogue the Orthodox canonical and patristic tradition with the contemporary realities of the diaspora, offering avenues for pastoral reflection rooted in the liturgical and theological sources of the Orthodox Church.
