The ecumenical horizon in the life and work of Father Boris Bobrinskoy

This article examines the ecumenical dimension of the life and work of Father Boris Bobrinskoy, a major Orthodox theologian of the Russian emigration in France. Through a biographical and theological study, the author traces the commitment of this central figure of the Saint Sergius Institute in the interconfessional dialogues of the twentieth century. The main idea is that Father Bobrinskoy's ecumenism does not constitute a peripheral stance, but rather a constitutive dimension of his theological thought and pastoral ministry. The article highlights the way in which his journey is part of the great movements of rapprochement between Churches, notably within the World Council of Churches and in the wake of the Second Vatican Council. It thus contributes to a better understanding of the place of French-speaking Orthodoxy in contemporary ecumenical history.
