Christian integration rites:

This article focuses on the preliminary rites of baptism in the Christian tradition, considered in their dimension of ecclesial integration. Olga Lossky-Laham conducts a historical and liturgical study based on the analysis of ancient euchologia and practices attested during the first millennium. The main idea is that these pre-baptismal rites did not originally include prayers of "purification" of the mother, contrary to certain later usages, and that they expressed above all a progressive entry of the neophyte into the ecclesial community. The contribution of the article is twofold: it corrects an erroneous reading of the ancient liturgical tradition and advocates for a revalorization of the catechumenate, understood not as a preliminary formality, but as a structured process of incorporation into the Church, faithful to the original meaning transmitted by the euchological sources.
