This article presents a French translation of passages from Letter XXXII of Nicolas Gogol's *Selected Passages from Correspondence with Friends*, published in 1846, devoted to the Easter celebration in the Russian context. It is a literary and spiritual meditation translated by Victor Balalaeff from the Berlin edition of the writer's complete works. The central idea contrasts the paschal ideal — universal brotherhood, reconciliation, and love of neighbour — with the disappointing reality of its celebration, both in Russia and in the nineteenth-century Western world. Gogol denounces the gap between the humanitarian aspirations of the century and the concrete inability to live out Christian charity. The theological contribution lies in the ecclesiological and eschatological reading of Easter as the foundation of human brotherhood, and in the conviction that the Russian paschal tradition carries a universal vocation.
