Even (play)

This article publishes excerpts from *Quitte*, a play co-written by a group of amateur actors under the direction of playwright Audrey Barrin, and performed at a theology conference. The work adopts a dramatic and playful form to explore the Abraham cycle as narrated in Genesis. Through comic exchanges between a director and fictional characters called "commentatillonneurs," the play stages hermeneutical conflicts of interpretation around foundational passages of the biblical text: the call of *Lekh lekha*, the renaming of Abram as Abraham, Sarah's laughter, and the visit of the three angels at Mamre. The theological contribution lies in the way the comic and poetic register becomes a vehicle for living exegesis, making complex scriptural issues accessible — notably the letter *hé* added to the patriarch's name as a divine creative breath.
