Homilies

This article brings together three homilies delivered at the 19th congress of the Orthodox Fellowship in Western Europe. The first, by Father Peter Sonntag, offers a meditation on John 6:48-54, articulating the eucharistic theology of the "Bread of Life" with the contemporary human condition marked by fear and crisis. The second, by Metropolitan Joseph, situates the celebration within the trans-jurisdictional mission of the Orthodox Fellowship, calling for a common witness beyond linguistic and ecclesial boundaries. The third, by Sophie Clément Stavrou, comments on the healing of the paralytic (Jn 5) by drawing out a theology of healing, restoration, and witness. These three homilies illustrate how liturgical preaching can articulate biblical exegesis, Orthodox ecclesiology, and engagement with the contemporary world.
