Cet article retrace l'histoire de l'implantation et du développement des communautés orthodoxes grecques en France. Relevant d'une approche historique, l'étude examine les conditions d'établissement de ces communautés, leur organisation institutionnelle et leur ancrage progressif dans le paysage religieux français. L'idée principale est que la présence orthodoxe grecque en France s'est construite par étapes, en lien avec les flux migratoires et les dynamiques ecclésiales propres au monde grec. Sur le plan théologique et historique, l'article apporte un éclairage documenté sur la structuration canonique et pastorale de ces communautés, leur rapport à la diaspora et leur place au sein de l'orthodoxie en Europe occidentale. Il constitue ainsi une contribution précieuse à la connaissance de l'histoire de l'Église orthodoxe hors des frontières du monde byzantin traditionnel.

This article traces the history of the establishment and development of Greek Orthodox communities in France. Drawing on a historical approach, the study examines the conditions under which these communities were established, their institutional organization, and their gradual integration into the French religious landscape. The main argument is that the Greek Orthodox presence in France was built in stages, in connection with migratory flows and the ecclesial dynamics specific to the Greek world. From a theological and historical perspective, the article provides documented insight into the canonical and pastoral structuring of these communities, their relationship to the diaspora, and their place within Orthodoxy in Western Europe. It thus constitutes a valuable contribution to the understanding of the history of the Orthodox Church beyond the borders of the traditional Byzantine world.
