L'ecclésiologie du père Alexandre Schmemann constitue le sujet de cet article consacré à la pensée théologique de l'un des représentants majeurs de la théologie orthodoxe du XXe siècle. L'étude examine la conception de l'Église développée par Schmemann, théologien et liturgiste russo-américain dont l'œuvre a profondément marqué la théologie orthodoxe en Occident. L'approche adoptée est celle d'une analyse théologique systématique visant à dégager les fondements et les articulations de cette ecclésiologie. L'idée centrale réside dans le lien indissoluble que Schmemann établit entre Église, Eucharistie et eschatologie, faisant de la liturgie le lieu constitutif de l'identité ecclésiale. Sur le plan théologique, l'article met en lumière la contribution originale de Schmemann à la réflexion orthodoxe contemporaine sur la nature de l'Église, en dialogue avec les courants théologiques occidentaux du XXe siècle.

The ecclesiology of Father Alexander Schmemann is the subject of this article devoted to the theological thought of one of the major representatives of twentieth-century Orthodox theology. The study examines the conception of the Church developed by Schmemann, a Russian-American theologian and liturgist whose work has profoundly shaped Orthodox theology in the West. The approach adopted is that of a systematic theological analysis aimed at identifying the foundations and articulations of this ecclesiology. The central idea lies in the indissoluble link that Schmemann establishes between Church, Eucharist, and eschatology, making the liturgy the constitutive locus of ecclesial identity. On the theological level, the article highlights Schmemann's original contribution to contemporary Orthodox reflection on the nature of the Church, in dialogue with the Western theological currents of the twentieth century.
