Cet article propose une vue d'ensemble historique et institutionnelle de l'Église orthodoxe serbe, des origines de la christianisation du peuple serbe jusqu'à la structure contemporaine du Patriarcat de Serbie. Rédigé sous forme de présentation synthétique par Mgr Luc (Kovacević), évêque de France et d'Europe occidentale au sein du Patriarcat serbe, le texte retrace les grandes étapes de l'histoire ecclésiale serbe en mettant en lumière la continuité entre l'héritage médiéval et l'organisation actuelle de l'Église. L'idée centrale est de montrer comment l'Église orthodoxe serbe s'est constituée et structurée au fil des siècles pour devenir le Patriarcat qu'elle est aujourd'hui. Sur le plan théologique et historique, l'article offre un cadre de référence utile pour situer l'Église serbe dans le concert de l'orthodoxie mondiale et comprendre son déploiement diasporique en Europe occidentale.

This article offers a historical and institutional overview of the Serbian Orthodox Church, from the origins of the Christianization of the Serbian people to the contemporary structure of the Patriarchate of Serbia. Written in the form of a synthetic presentation by Bishop Luc (Kovacević), Bishop of France and Western Europe within the Serbian Patriarchate, the text traces the major stages of Serbian ecclesiastical history, highlighting the continuity between the medieval heritage and the current organization of the Church. The central idea is to show how the Serbian Orthodox Church was formed and structured over the centuries to become the Patriarchate it is today. From a theological and historical perspective, the article provides a useful frame of reference for situating the Serbian Church within the broader context of world Orthodoxy and understanding its diasporic presence in Western Europe.
