Cet article examine l'histoire de l'Église orthodoxe serbe durant la période de domination ottomane, en s'attachant aux transformations institutionnelles et organisationnelles qu'elle a connues sous ce régime. L'étude adopte une approche historique et analytique, s'appuyant sur les événements marquants qui ont façonné la vie ecclésiale serbe au contact du pouvoir ottoman. L'idée principale est que la domination ottomane n'a pas simplement constitué une contrainte extérieure, mais a profondément reconfiguré les structures internes de l'Église, l'obligeant à s'adapter à un cadre politique et juridique radicalement différent. Sur le plan théologique et historique, l'article apporte un éclairage précis sur les mécanismes d'adaptation et de résistance de l'Église serbe, contribuant ainsi à une meilleure compréhension des rapports entre institution ecclésiale et pouvoir politique dans le contexte ottoman des Balkans.

This article examines the history of the Serbian Orthodox Church during the period of Ottoman domination, focusing on the institutional and organizational transformations it underwent under this regime. The study adopts a historical and analytical approach, drawing on the landmark events that shaped Serbian ecclesiastical life in contact with Ottoman power. The main argument is that Ottoman domination did not simply constitute an external constraint, but profoundly reconfigured the internal structures of the Church, forcing it to adapt to a radically different political and legal framework. From a theological and historical perspective, the article sheds precise light on the mechanisms of adaptation and resistance of the Serbian Church, thereby contributing to a better understanding of the relationship between ecclesiastical institutions and political power in the Ottoman context of the Balkans.
